The 16-year-old has shown his reining mare Surprizentheprincess to numerous victories in the last year and, just recently, he showed her to win his first American Quarter Horse Youth Association (AQHYA) Performance Halter Mare World Championship.

AQHA Purchases Robin Glenn Pedigrees, Inc.

On April 11, the American Quarter Horse Association announced the purchase of Robin Glenn Pedigrees, Inc. (RGP). Established in 1981, RGP has long been recognized as the industry’s premier sale catalog and pedigree service, currently producing sale catalogs for Heritage Place, the Los Alamitos Equine Sale, the National Reining Horse Association, Ruidoso Select Yearling Sales, Texas Quarter Horse Association and Western Bloodstock, producer of the National Cutting Horse Association’s sales.

Briefs Filed In Continuing Clone Lawsuit

Both parties in a pending legal case regarding the registration of cloned horses and their offspring have now filed legal briefs requesting an oral arguments hearing with the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans.

Animal Associations Voice Support for AQHA Cloning Appeal

As the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) continues its appeal of an August Texas district court ruling requiring it to start registering clones and their offspring, a coalition of organizations including the American Kennel Club, The Jockey Club and the Cat Fanciers Association has voiced their support, filing an amici curiae brief.

Each entity involved in the motion provides breed registry services for animals and serves as an information clearinghouse for owners and persons interested in these animals. New Orleans attorneys Phillip Wittman and Lesli Harris filed the legal document on the new coalition’s behalf.

Judge Grants A Stay of Clone Registrations Pending Appeal

aqha-museumAn Amarillo federal judge on Tuesday granted a legal motion by the American Quarter Horse Association to halt horse cloning registration requirements until a higher court rules on its appeal. U.S. District Judge Mary Lou Robinson granted the motion in an order that also required the association to continue developing rules to register cloned quarter horses and their offspring.
