AQHA Updates Animal Welfare Policies

Effective October 1, 2023 the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) by recommendation from the Animal Welfare Commission, is implementing new minimum penalty levels of offense, as well as adjusted fines and penalties regarding inhumane treatment violations.

AQHA VRH World Top Ranching Heritage-Bred Horses

Four American Quarter Horses were recognized as the Top Ranching Heritage-Bred Horses over and above their show accomplishments. Each of these horses earned a $250 cash prize and a custom trophy for their owners. Their breeders also each received a $250 cash prize.

AQHA Discounts Vitrified Embryo Permits

The AQHA Executive Committee has approved a reduced rate of $25, effective June 1, 2023, for embryo permit applications. If you have multiple vitrified embryos stored, a permit is needed for each embryo to register a future foal.
