He was trained and ridden by Kelby Phillips to a composite score of 660, winning $18,438 for owner Mike Stewart. In early 2015, Duals Lucky Charm was purchased from breeders Carolyn and Mark Murray by Will Roden. In December 2015, Roden sold the 2013 gelding to Mike and Robyne Stewart.

Jordan and the 1987 stallion, bred and owned by Jimmie Rogers, of Rohnert Park, California, won the event’s 4-Year-Old Open Championship and a $48,632 paycheck. Jordan, who has $615,454 in lifetime earnings, rode Lenas Telesis to an eighth-place tie in the 1990 NCHA Futurity Open finals.

Several of the horses competing in the Derby had the chance at an additional $10,000 in added money in the concurrent Whizkey N Diamonds Novice Horse Derby, thanks to a partnership with Rhodes River Ranch.
