Night Deposit Chex Passes On
Night Deposit Chex (Nu Chex to Cash x Salena Cee x Maxi Lena) was a 1997 black stallion bred and raised at Hilldale Farm. In 2000, he was sold to Ken and Judy Siebel, Stevensville, Mont. They showed him successfully in reined cow horse and cutting competition.
When Hutton was looking for a horse for her daughter to show in National Reining Horse Association non-pro competition, she tracked down Night Deposit Chex, and he returned to Hilldale Farm in November 2004. It didn’t take long for Torpey and Blackie to click. In fact, they were the team to beat in 2005.
Torpey qualified Night Deposit Chex for the 2005 American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show in Amateur Reining and Working Cow Horse. Early in the year, they established themselves as contenders in NRHA Non-Pro and Freestyle competition. In fact, at the February 2005 Florida Classic Circuit offered by the Florida Reining Horse Association, they won two of the four $2,000-added Non-Pro classes as well as the Freestyle Open and Non-Pro competitions.
According to Equi-Stat, Torpey and Blackie earned $41,507 in 2005. The $23,322 they earned in Non-Pro competition made them the 2005 NRHA Non-Pro World Champions! They were a joy to watch – a perfect match.
Night Deposit Chex was shown successfully through 2010 by either Jessicah or Tammye. According to Equi-Stat, this outstanding family member has $111,181 in lifetime earnings. He will be greatly missed.
