NCHA Hires Help To Find Next Executive Director

nchalogo_130x102The National Cutting Horse Association, the world governing body for the sport of cutting, has secured Jim Harlan, president and CEO of MJM Global Search, Inc. to assist in efforts to fill the position of Executive Director of the more than 16,000-member organization, with a timetable of early next summer established to secure the association's next boss.

Investigation Puts $3.7 Million in 2013 NCHA Funding On Hold

An ongoing investigation has temporarily suspended $3.7 million in state of Texas and city of Fort Worth money the National Cutting Horse Association is scheduled to receive through the Texas Major Events Fund this year, but NCHA President and Interim Executive Director Ernie Beutenmiller, Jr., said on Jan. 9 he believes all issues can be resolved before this year's three "Triple Crown" Fort Worth limited-age events, which could all be impacted.

On Dec. 14, 2012, the horse world tragically lost the great reined cow horse performer and sire, Chics Magic Potion (Smart Chic Olena x Remedys Magic Potion x Remedys Reply). Bob and Dana Avila, “Magic’s” owner, Kenneth Banks, and everyone who was close to the 12-year-old stallion during his superlative career will certainly mourn this loss.

They teach them how to position themselves to not only block any attempt to go to the herd, but give a cow the impression that he is in two places at once, already landing to head the next turn, and telling the cow, “Don't even think about it.”
