Jill Montgomery Receives 2017 Van Ness Award

Each year, the American Horse Council (AHC) presents the Van Ness Award to an individual who has shown leadership and service to the horse community in his or her state. It is awarded in memory of Mrs. Marjorie Van Ness, one of the founders of the New Jersey Horse Council. Mrs. Van Ness was one of the organizers of the AHC’s Coalition of State Horse Councils.

Senator Mike Enzi Receives AHC’s Rolapp Award

Each year the American Horse Council (AHC) presents the Rolapp Award to a Member of Congress who has been a great supporter of the horse industry. The Award is presented in honor of the late Rich Rolapp who was president of the AHC from 1974 to 1993.

Hickey Receives 2016 Rolapp Award

This year, however, the AHC Board of Trustees elected to give the 2016 Rolapp Award to retiring AHC president Jay Hickey at a Congressional reception on June 14.

Purina Pledges $125,000 to A Home For Every Horse

purina-horses-webPurina Animal Nutrition has pledged up to $150,000 in free feed to rescue shelters through its continuing partnership with A Home for Every Horse, a program dedicated to finding homes for horses in need of adoption or fostering. For the second year in a row, Purina has pledged a base donation of $125,000. From April 16, 2013 to August 21, 2013, Purina will donate an additional $1 for every new “Like” or “Share” it receives through Facebook, up to $25,000, for a potential total of $150,000 in free feed.
