The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA), in conjunction with the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA), awards a student-rider the National Sportsmanship Award each year. This year's award was presented to Hannah Bentz a high-school senior from Boca Raton, Florida.

PCCHA Hall Of Famer Jack Adams Passes Away

jack-adamsJack AdamsJack Ray Adams, 77, died Saturday, July 18, at home in Clements with his immediate family by his side.

Jack was born on April 21, 1938 in Blanding, Utah to Jack and Helen Adams. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Judy, his daughter Jazlyn Rice, and sons Hazen and Andy Adams.

which raises breeding-quality Quarter Horses for use in barrel racing and roping.

The award was presented by Connie Larson, Ph.D., Zinpro Corporation's North American ruminant research and nutrition service manager, at a recent ASAS meeting in Orlando, Florida.

Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) Cases Reported In Texas

yearlings-runningQHN File PhotoThe Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) recently received confirmation from the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL) of Texas horses testing positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE). The infected horses are located in the counties of Newton, Orange, Liberty, Jasper and Jefferson. As of July 30, there are a total of five positive EEE cases in Texas.
