$100,000 CD Lights Yearling Tops NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales
The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales spanned three days in Reno, Nevada, Oct. 1-3, and included four sessions of cow horse prospects, proven performers and broodmares. The final session, the Select Yearling and Broodmare Sale, resulted in the highest seller, as Shining CD Light brought a final bid of $100,000.
Diagnosis Prior to Treatment Critical to EPM Recovery
Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis (EPM) is one of the most feared diseases among horse owners – so feared that owners might be tempted to request their veterinarian treat their horse for EPM without proper diagnostic measures. While early treatment is critical to stopping the disease from causing further nerve damage, if the horse does not have EPM, an EPM treatment product will not be effective.
Schoeller, Tinseltown Flash Win Congress Reining Futurity Open
A deep pen, in talent and in dirt, was no match for Robin Schoeller as he piloted Tinseltown Flash to the Reining Futurity Level 4 Open Championship on Oct. 6 at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. The show, held in Columbus, Ohio, started on Oct. 1 and continues through Oct. 25.

2016 NRHA European Affiliate Championships To Be Held In Poland
The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) announced on Oct. 5 that the 2016 and 2017 location for the European Affiliate Championships will be the beautiful Roleski Ranch in Poland. The premier event will be held July 7-10, 2016, and July 6-9, 2017, and will be managed by Mariusz Siwiec.

Loot For Grassroots Returns To The International
The International reining event, which also included the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Mountain Affiliate Regional Championships. The Loot for Grassroots offered up to a $100,000 payout to amateurs entered in the event. While there were not the needed 100 entries to make the $100,000 guaranteed, there was plenty of money and prizes to go around for many of the riders.

The Southwest Reining Horse Association (SWRHA) Futurity’s popularity continues to grow as its show entries, added money and purse increase. This year’s $131,125-added Futurity begins Tuesday, Oct. 20, and concludes Sunday, Oct. 25.
