IEA Wraps Up National Finals

The finalists represented more than 1,300 teams and 11,000 student riders from eight zones throughout the country. Individuals and teams participated in multiple competitions during the regular season shows, regional finals and zone finals to qualify for the National Finals.

New Mexico Racing Commission Announces Full Court Press for Out-of-Competition Testing

The announcement of enhanced out-of-competition testing was made public by the New Mexico Racing Commission (NMRC) Chairman, Ray Willis, during the April 21 NMRC monthly meeting. Chairman Willis stated, “This project will be an aggressive procedure to let the public know that New Mexico racing is going in the right direction and we will start the testing immediately.”

The 2016 National Reining Horse Assocation (NRHA) European Futurity crowned its Non-Pro champions on April 23 in the Ostbayerhalle in Kreuth, Germany. Claiming the €36,000-added Futurity Level 4 Non-Pro win was Gina Schumacher, of Germany, riding Whizzard (Topsail Whiz x Shiney Lil Miss x Shining Spark), owned by Chanay Sky Management, SA. The pair had already left their mark in the pen after winning the qualifying go-round with a 218.5.

Draw 46 in a field of 50 finalists, multiple NRHA Open World Champion Ann Fonck and Roosters Attitude, claimed the Futurity Level 4 Open Championship and a €20.135,03 paycheck.
