The first Futurity champions were crowned Dec. 2 in an exciting finals that filled the day in Oklahoma City. Jack Medows piloted Chicsdreamofdiamonds from draw 31 out of a field of 32 in the section two finals to score a 218.5. The duo claimed the title of Cinch NRHA Futurity Level 4 Non-Pro Champions, as well as the Youth Non-Pro Championship.
On the evening of Dec. 1 in Oklahoma City, the $50,000 Silver Spurs Equine Team Challenge saw 14 riders leave their mark in the Jim Norick Arena, where the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Futurity is held. The payout for the class was $40,000, with a $10,00 bonus to be split evenly between all team members on the winning squad.
