Cutters Against Cancer is selling raffle tickets for a 2012 breeding to Cat Ichi, donated by Jo Ellard of EE Ranches. Tickets cost $20 for one ticket, $60 for five tickets or $100 for 10 tickets. Checks should be made payable to American Cancer Society and mailed to: Cutters Against Cancer, PO Box 222, Ellensburg, WA 98926. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Cutters Against Cancer will mail your raffle ticket(s) to you after your check is received. The drawing will be held during the Western Bloodstock Super Stallion Saturday events at the NCHA Futurity in Fort Worth, Texas, on Dec. 10, 2011. The winner need not be present to win. Tickets may also be purchased at the NCHA Futurity. You may stop by these booths to get your tickets before the drawing: Nettles Country and Jemison Enterprises. Note that the raffle ticket is for the breeding fee only.

Cat Ichi, an 11-year-old stallion (High Brow Cat x Laney Doc x Doc Quixote), earned more than $300,000 in the cutting pen, according to Equi-Stat. He placed ninth at the 2003 NCHA Futurity Open with Guy Woods. This duo went on to blaze a winning trail during the 2004 season by making the finals at the Abilene Cutting Spectacular, placing third at the Augusta Futurity Open, placing third at the South Point Winter Championships, winning the Tunica Futurity Open Championship, finishing as Reserve Champions at the NCHA Super Stakes Open and winning the NCHA Summer Spectacular Open.

As a sire, Cat Ichi is over the $1 million mark. His highest-earning offspring is 2007 mare RPL Ich This (Cat Ichi x Ruby Duece x Smart Little Lena), who has $130,954 in show pen earnings.
