Youth World Champions Crowned at Summer Spectacular

MKVivian KMarvin HHarrel072016Kenli Marvin & MK VivianAfter three rounds of tough competition during the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Youth World Finals, which were held July 25, 26 and 28 during the NCHA Summer Spectacular, Kenli Marvin secured the Senior Youth World Championship. She and MK Vivian (Kit Dual x Runnin Mate x Smart Mate) marked a 216.5 in the final round on Thursday, giving her a total of 231 points for the year.

The youth riders took to the arena on Thursday at the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Summer Spectacular. In the Senior Youth Scholarship finals, several high scores had already been posted when Lane Cooper and Holly Is Smooth walked to the herd as draw No. 10 in the 29-horse field. As Cooper went to work, the crowd showed their enthusiasm for his run by cheering loudly, but when a score of 233 appeared on the screen at the end of the arena, the roar was deafening.
