The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship is edging closer to its final weekend. The show runs through Dec. 7 at Oklahoma State Fair Park in Oklahoma City, Okla. Mandy McCutcheon, of Aubrey, Texas, and her Ms Whiz Dunit (Topsail Whiz x A Bueno Poco Dunit) jumped to the top of the Level 4 Non-Pro standings with a go-round score of 219.

Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) has produced a unique, entertaining reining horse event to benefit a local Oklahoma charity. The 2013 event will benefit the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum and will be held in Oklahoma City during the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show on Friday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. The RHSF “A Slide to Remember” includes celebrity guests, representatives of the NRHA Hall of Fame, crossover riders from other equestrian disciplines, Freestyle reiners, as well as Oklahoma City area firefighters and police officers.Since 2007, the
Nathan Piper was In Like Flinn when he won the first-ever Heritage Futurity Open Championship, besting an 80-horse field with a score of 150.5 on In Like Flinn, owned by John and Nancy Tague. The win was good for $7,750 and a custom trophy saddle from Kyle Tack after intense competition at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas, Oct. 3-6.
On Friday, Oct. 4, the action at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center continued with nearly 200 horses going through the gates to show in the Tellepsen and Coliseum Arena. The Novice Horse Non-Pro was the first class of the day at the Heritage Futurity Show on Friday and top honors in the Level 1 went to Kary Key on Lean N Hollywood for a score of 71.5. Carolyn Edson became the Reserve Champion of that division for her score of 70 on Vintage Nic Nac.
