Triangle Mid-Winter Sale Posts Increases Despite Winter Storm

catto-boyHighest seller Catto Boy sold while working bridleless on the mechanical cow at the Triangle Mid-Winter Sale. Triangle Sales didn’t let bad weather dampen their spirits and pushed through the winter storm to hold their Mid-Winter Sale Feb. 27-28. Although 20 percent of the total horses cataloged were withdrawn because road conditions didn’t allow some consignors to make it to the Shawnee, Oklahoma, auction site, 82 percent of the horses passing through the ring were sold, and the average sale price for all horses was $5,500.

Center Ranch to Hold Production Sale in October

Photo credit - NCHA photo by Alan Gold.There was a lot of buzz about Center Ranch at the 2014 NCHA Futurity, where five of the ranch’s entries ranked among the top go-round contenders and four qualified for the Open Finals, a record showing for an individual owner. On Friday and Saturday, October 9 and 10, 2015, Center Ranch will hold its first ever Production Sale with an offering of approximately 30 yearlings, 40 two-year-olds, 10 broodmares, and 10 finished 3-year-olds entered in the NCHA Futurity.

All-Time Record For NCHA Futurity Sales

ncha-futurity-sales-14It was the best of times and the best of times, from Monday, Dec. 8 through Saturday, Dec. 13, as Western Bloodstock Ltd.’s 2014 NCHA Futurity Sales set sale session records and concluded with an all-time average of $27,696 – 23 percent above the previous record of $21,370 set in 2006.

Bill Richardson Estate Sale Set For Jan. 1

the-last-trade"The Last Trade" estate sale has been planned for Jan. 1, 2015, at B and R Ranch, in Whitesboro, Texas, following the death of owner Bill Richardson. Horses, equipment, trailers and tack will sell, beginning at 11 a.m. at the JL Arena. Nearly 50 horses will be offered for sale, including several well-bred stallions and mares from proven cutting, reining and reined cow horse lines.

The yearling palomino stallion was one of 27 horses sold on Nov. 1 at the ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona.

$80,000 Stallion Tops Legacy Reining Sales

Net and gross sales rose to all-time highs as a large crowd of reining enthusiasts packed the sale arena both days.

Nearly two-thirds of the way through the first night, Alwaysshineyergunsup walked into the sale ring for consignor McQuay Stables Inc. After several minutes of contentious bidding, the 2013 palomino stallion walked out as the highest seller, with Carol Rose signing the ticket at $80,000.

$102,000 2-Year-Old Tops NRCHA Snaffle Bit Sales

miss-peptolenoMiss Peptolena was the highest seller at $102,000The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales were held Oct. 2-4 in Reno, Nev., during the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. The two Select sessions recorded increases in averages, with the highest seller coming from the Select Yearling and Broodmare Sale. Hip No. 439, Miss Peptoleno, topped the sale after the gavel fell at $102,000 for the 2013 sorrel filly. Circle Y Ranch consigned the One Time Pepto daughter who was purchased by Merle Fulton of Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP.

im-fancy-schmancyHighest-seller Im Fancy Schmancy“The 2014 Congress Super Sale, presented by Kaplow Insurance, showed a stronger market over the 2013 Sale,” according to Mike Jennings of Professional Horse Services, LLC. “This year the Super Sale posted a higher sale average and median price, as well as the price for the High Seller.”
