NCHA Hires Terry Bassett as Chief Marketing Officer

NCHA Town Hall Meetings Foster Transparency

NCHA Executive Director Jim Bret Campbell hosted the meeting, which followed on the heels of a similar session at the NCHA Eastern National Championships in Jackson, Mississippi. A third meeting will be held during the NCHA Western National Championships in Denver.

NCHA Approves New Payout Guidelines

On Tuesday, Jan. 26, the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) executive committee approved new payout guidelines for the organization’s Triple Crown events. The new structure will go into effect beginning with this year’s Lucas Oil NCHA Super Stakes, which is scheduled for March 24-April 16 in Fort Worth, Texas.


NYCHA Scholarship Application Deadline Extended

nychaThe NYCHA scholarship application deadline has been extended to March 1.Many young cutters have dreams of attending college after high school, but the financial responsibility that comes with that milestone can seem overwhelming. The National Youth Cutting Horse Association (NYCHA) provides financial assistance to members of the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) and the NYCHA through scholarships funded by the Dogwood Foundation and the Cutters In Action (CIA) Charities Foundation.

payout-meetingMore than 350 people participated either in person or online as the NCHA Payout Task Force presented its findings on Jan. 15. • Photo by Stacy PigottApproximately 100 people attended a meeting of the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Payout Task Force on Friday, Jan. 15, at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas, with another 262 tuning in via a live webcast provided by the NCHA. The meeting was originally planned to update various NCHA committees on the work being done by the Payout Task Force with regard to purses and the payout structures at the NCHA’s three Triple Crown events – the NCHA Super Stakes, NCHA Summer Cutting Spectacular and NCHA Futurity.

NCHA Payout Task Force Meeting Location Changed

The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) has changed the location of a Payout Task Force meeting scheduled for Friday, Jan. 15. To accommodate the number of NCHA members and directors who would like to be informed about changes in the payouts, the meeting was moved to a larger venue, the Fort Worth Convention Center.
