The Abilene Spectacular is the first major cutting held each year. The 2016 show is set to begin Wednesday, Jan. 6, with the first go-rounds of the 4-Year-Old Open and 5/6-Year-Old Open divisions. The show concludes Wednesday, Jan. 13, with the 4-Year-Old and 5/6-Year-Old Non-Pro finals.

The countdown is on for the annual National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Futurity, to be held Nov. 19-Dec. 12 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The event draws some of the best 3-year-old cutting horses in the world, competing for the coveted Futurity Open Championship title and a $200,000 paycheck.
