The leading Open money-earning horse at the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Super Stakes is 1983 NCHA Futurity Open Champion Docs Okie Quixote (Doc Quixote x Jimmette Too x Johnny Tivio), a 1980 stallion bred, owned and shown by Joe Heim. Docs Okie Quixote became the second NCHA Triple Crown Champion – winning the 1983 NCHA Futurity, the 1984 NCHA Super Stakes Open and the 1984 NCHA Summer Spectacular Derby Open. The stallion, who died following colic surgery at the age of 6, has lifetime earnings of $637,707. His 43 money-earning offspring won a total of $609,049 for $14,164 in average earnings.
