Stallion Stakes Sweep: Stephen Silva and DT Shiny N I Know It Take Home Championship

When the National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Teton Ridge Stallion Stakes wrapped up on April 1 there were no jokes as Stephen Silva swept the Non-Pro, Intermediate Non-Pro and Limited Non-Pro aboard DT Shiny N I Know It.

The pair took home a $10,000 check, adding to DT Shiny N I Know It’s lifetime EquiStat earnings of $31,715. The son of NRCHA Million Dollar Sire Hickory Holly Time and out of Lil Miss Shiney Chex (by Shining Spark) was bred by DT Horses LLC and acquired by Silva before the 2022 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity, where the horse made the Open finals and placed 12th with EquiStat Elite $2 Million Rider Justin Wright.

At the NRCHA Stallion Stakes, a single point separated the top three horses, and the top two were tied with their finals composite scores of 646. Silva and his 2019 stallion scored a 211 in the herd, 218.5 in reining and a 216.5 on their cow work. Debbie Crafton also marked a 646 composite (214 herd/218 rein/214 cow) on SJR Sumkindarockstar (Smooth as a Cat x Sumkinda Pinkcadilac x Peptoboonsmal).

Per NRCHA Rule 7.3.1.1 “First place shall be determined by the highest cow work score in finals or cow work go-round score in LAE without finals.”
