The 2023 NCHA Eastern National Championships presented by 6666 Ranch is in full swing in West Monroe, Louisiana, and the 19-horse Open finals was hotly contested on Tuesday, March 7, resulting in a tie for the championship.
EE Columbian Red and Guy Woods, of Whitesboro, Texas, and Rammer Jammer and Bradey Davis, of Texarkana, Texas, were draws 1 and 3, respectively, and they both scored a 219 that held on for the win. Each earned $4,349.

EE Columbian Red (Stevie Rey Von x Ichi Sangria x Cat Ichi) comes from a line of champions as Ichi Sangria and Cat Ichi, both owned by EE Ranches, Inc., have won several major aged-event championships, both of whom were also shown by Woods. Cat Ichi is one of EquiStat’s All-Time Leading Cutting Sires, with progeny earnings in excess of $7 million.
EE Columbian Red himself now has total earnings of $44,597, according to EquiStat. The 5-year-old is also owned by EE Ranches Inc. NCHA Hall of Fame Rider Guy Woods, originally of Australia, has total earnings exceeding $3,500,000.

Rammer Jammer (Bamacat x DCD Every Which Rey x Dual Rey) bumped up her total earnings to $95,839 after this win, according to EquiStat, and Bradey Davis now has total earnings of $729,652.
The 2015 mare is owned by Bradey Davis Performance Horses, LLC. Bradey’s wife, Ashley, also shows Rammer Jammer, and she qualified for the finals in the Eastern Nationals Non-Pro with a 216, to be held March 9.
The Reserve Championship was won by half a point, as CR Light Hearted (CR Highlight x CR Tuff Hearted Cat) and Ryan Moore marked a 217.5 to earn $3,248. CR Light Hearted is owned by Garland Pierce, of Reeds Spring, Missouri.
