Not everyone is fortunate enough to find their calling at such a young age, but CJ Lembke, owner of 70 Ranch Performance Horses in Gainesville, Texas, knew she was on the right path at the ripe age of 8 years old. After her father introduced her to horses, she was hooked. Lembke began her career at weekend gymkhana events, which snowballed to high school and college rodeo, then eventually hitting the pavement in pursuit of pro rodeo circuit glory.
After a career-ending injury, Lembke was forced to adjust and reinvent her passions within the horse industry. Lembke pivoted and began building her long-time dream of an elite breeding program. With speed and disposition in mind, she sought to breed for both as she acquired industry greats from both the barrel and western performance horse worlds. Lembke currently stands notable sires including National Finals Rodeo qualifier Feel The Sting (LTE $139,713) and $54+ million dollar sire Metallic Cat sons Metallic Malice and KR Fantallicka.
“I’m very proud and thankful that my program has grown to this magnitude. We now own six stallions, including Metallic Malice, Feel The Sting and KR Fantallicka, and ship semen on all of our stallions from the ranch. We have some outstanding mare power in the barn as well,” Lembke said.

With several NFR-qualifying mares, Lembke aims to produce the very best and will be offering to the public, for the first time, select weanlings, yearlings, broodmares and embryos at the inaugural 70 Ranch Performance Horses online sale October 9, 2022.
“70 Ranch Performance Horses is generating so many quality colts in several different disciplines in the western riding industry, and we are honored to have the ability to use the Solo Select Sale platform. We raise a little of everything — cowhorses, barrel horses, cutters, rope horses and race horses” Lembke said.
With offerings from cowhorse and barrel horse bloodlines, Lembke notes there will be something for everyone.

“While I plan to stay in the cutting and cowhorse industries, I am selling two of my best cutting mares in this production sale. These are game-changing mares that will be offered. The sale is packed with barrel horse colts that are dripping with incentives and possibilities,” Lembke said.
