The Marketplace at Ardmore’s online September 3 auction saw a gelding by Hottish top the sale and a two-year-old by Hottish snag high selling two-year old honors. Stevie Rey Von sired the high selling yearling.
Susie Reed, sale manager for the Marketplace at Ardmore, reports 89% sold in this – her fourteenth consecutive online sale. She said, “We had a good sale because the horses brought what they should have and we ended the day with satisfied customers – both buyers and sellers.”
Jimmy Purselley consigned Red Ish, a 4-year-old sorrel gelding and NCHA money earner by Hottish. Red Ish is out of Ruby Tuesdays Jewel, earner of $217,667 and producer of $1.5 Million. This high seller at $38,500 went to Wilmeth Deyo, Crown Point, NY.
The high selling yearling, Smoochee by Stevie Rey Von, was consigned by 32 Cattle Company and sold to Toni Spencer, Beaumont, TX for $32,500.
Betsy Holtz, Ramona, OK placed the winning bid of $32,000 for the high selling two-year old. Aprils Hottest Bunny, 2020 sorrel mare by Hottish shares the same dam as Panchita Cat (sold for $700,000 at the 2021 Western Bloodstock’s 2YO Futurity Sale). Todd Nelson was the consignor.
Reed closed her comments by adding, “As always, we want to thank all our consigners, bidders and buyers. We have found these online sales fun, fast and a good fit for today’s horse market.”
The next Marketplace at Ardmore sale is scheduled for November 12, 2022. Consignment forms are available online. The Marketplace at Ardmore’s traditional New Year’s Day sale is again slated for January 1, 2023.
