Metallic Rebel Mare Tops Marketplace at Ardmore

A daughter of Metallic Rebel from a strong female family topped the latest Marketplace at Ardmore Online Sale.

The mare, With A Rebel Yelle, was among 35 horses cataloged to the sale held July 9, which officials say averaged $21,428 with the top ten head averaging $29,300. Eighty-eight percent of the horses cataloged sold.

It was the thirteenth online sale the company has held over the past 26 months.

“We tried something new this time with our streamlined ‘Flash Sale.’ We shortened the auction day to just 4 hours, and it was a huge hit with buyers and consignors alike,” Sale Manager Susie Reed said in a statement.

High Seller With A Rebel Yelle

High seller With A Rebel Yelle, brought a bid of $37,000 from Mark Pryor, of Gainesville, Tennessee. In training with Tarin Rice, the 3-year-old mare consigned by Justin Rockey is out of ARC Some Time Ago (by One Time Pepto).

With A Rebel Yelle’s dam is a full sister to Rubys Radar, a winner of $294,439 who won last year’s $150,00 Fence Work Challenge at The Run For A Million , and is a granddaughter of EquiStat Elite $1 Million Dam Playboys Ruby.

Other Top Sellers

The high-selling gelding of the sale was Hey Boo Boo, a 2014 gelding by Dual Smart Rey and out of Travs Scooter (by Smart Lil Scoot). Eric Polansky, of North East, Maryland, put down the top bid of $35,500 for the winner of more than $88,000. Hey Boo Boo was consigned by Charles Smith.

The high selling yearling was Ima Nacho Average Cat, a son of High Brow Cat who brought a top bid of $34,500 from Matacorp, of Midland, Texas. The Kelly and Jason Krueger consignee is out of Mates Little Cokette, a daughter of Smart Mate who has foaled the winners of more than $311,000.

Future Sales

According to Reed, holding a horse sale exclusively on the internet is still a relatively new concept.

“At first hosting an online sale was a little scary. But we’ve worked hard over the last couple of years to gain the trust of consignors and buyers by showing them time and time again an online auction is safe and the most efficient way to market their horse,” she said.

The sales company’s next sale is Sept. 3. Consignment forms are available online. Another sale is scheduled for Nov. 12, and the Marketplace at Ardmore’s traditional New Year’s Day sale is slated for Jan. 1, 2023.
