Elite Horse Sale Planned for National Western Stock Show

One of the major stock shows in the United States plans to add a horse sale next year.

Officials with the National Western Stock Show, held annually in Denver, Colorado, recently announced the creation of its Elite Horse Sale. Its announcement indicated the sale is intended for horses from all disciplines.

“Hosting a high-quality horse sale during the Stock Show will attract not only the highest level of quality horses for all disciplines and purposes, but also provide an outlet for ranchers, competitors, and breeders to purchase quality horses,” said Paul Andrews, President & CEO of the National Western Stock Show.

The NWSS Elite Horse Sale will be held on the opening day of the 2023 show, which is scheduled to be on Saturday, Jan. 7, in the NW Events Center Paddock.

Interested buyers should attend in person or watch the sale on the Livestream. Details and consignment opportunities will be available throughout the summer on the NWSS Horse Show Facebook page @nwsshorseexhibitors and at nationalwestern.com/horse-shows.

The National Western Stock Show hosts a wide variety of equine competitions such as the RAM Invitational Freestyle Reining, as well as reined cow horse, show jumping, a ranch rodeo, clinics, breed competitions and events for donkeys and mules.
