Windsomcash Lives Up To Her Name at the Arbuckle Mountain Futurity

Windsomcash is living up to her name— and is continuing to cash in at shows.

Last weekend, she marked the highest 4-Year-Old Non-Pro score of the 2022 Arbuckle Mountain Futurity with Ty Moore in the saddle.

Their high score, a 222, came in the finals go-round held on Feb. 27, at the Hardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

The pair’s impressive score gave them a full five-point winning margin over Champion Chad Bushaw, who marked 217 aboard Sculpted.

“It was a tough set of cows. I got kind of lucky that we picked the better ones,” Moore said. “She’s a good little mare to show. She helps you out and that’s a good thing—it makes my job a little easier.”

The win added $9,000 Windsomcash’s lifetime earnings, pushing the mare’s winnings to more than $40,000, according to Equi-Stat.

The sorrel mare is by EquiStat Elite $1 Million Sire Reyzin The Cash and out of Windsemal (by Bodee Boonsmal).

“She’s a really nice horse. My aunt Kathleen (Moore) bought her at the Futurity, because she liked what she saw there,” Moore said. “She’s got a lot of style, a lot of look in the middle of the pen and gets low. She’s smart about the cow and knows where to be.”

The Arbuckle Mountain Futurity was just the latest accolade for the mare, who was bred by Julie and Vince McBurney, of Burbank, California.

In January 2022, Moore rode Windsomcash to first place in the 4-Year-Old Non-Pro at the Abilene Spectacular. Trainer Lloyd Cox also collected a top 10 finish aboard the mare in that show’s 4-Year-Old Open.  Cox also piloted the mare to third-place tie in the 4-Year-Old Open at the Ike Derby and Classic.
