AQHA Seeks New Executive Vice President

The American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) recently launched a search for an executive vice president to lead the Amarillo, Texas-based association.

Officials say the ideal candidate for the executive vice president position will have the business knowledge to further current growth patterns, initiative to drive change, leadership skills required to manage a passionate team of talented staff, foresight to recognize future needs and a desire to ensure the best for AQHA members and their American Quarter Horses worldwide.

The association’s previous executive vice president, Craig Huffhines, left the organization about a year ago. Huffhines was later named director of Equine Sciences and Elite Bovine and Equine Genetics at Colorado State University.

The Association has more than 230,000 members and more than 6 million registered American Quarter Horses in 136 countries around the world. Officials say is in growth mode, demonstrating year-over-year increases in key AQHA business initiatives, such as memberships, transfers and registrations.

More details about the position have been posted on the AQHA’s website.

Applications will be collected confidentially through Underwood Law Firm. To request the job description and additional information about the position, email [email protected] by April 1.
