Some senior officers with the National Youth Cutting Horse Association (NYCHA) will embark on a mentoring program this year with their adult counterparts.
The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) recently announced that the mentoring program, which will pair the NYCHA Senior Board of Directors with the NCHA Executive Committee, will allow the youth to observe the responsibilities and business of the adults. It will be done during the NYCHA’s 2021-2022 term.
The NYCHA Senior Board of Directors is comprised of the senior officer team and the senior regional directors.
“We are looking forward to adding this mentorship opportunity into the current leadership and educational program for the NYCHA officers,” NCHA Director of Youth Mike Simmons said in a statement. “I want to thank each member of the NCHA Executive Committee for their continued support of the NYCHA and sharing their time with our youth members.”
Applications for the NYCHA senior officers and senior regional directors are available online at nchacutting.com/youth. Applicants must submit completed forms to the NCHA office by June 10.
Elected members of the NYCHA senior board will receive an official election package. This package consists of a leather officer jacket, Gist Silversmith belt buckle, Western felt hat, embroidered CINCH officer shirt, STS backpack, and travel for education and leadership activities covered.
