New AQHA Award to Honor Top Heritage Breeder Sale

Applications are being accepted for a new award that recognizes an outstanding sale of Quarter Horses consigned by American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Heritage Breeder designees.

Called the AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder Top Production Sale Award, the honor will be given out for the first time in 2021. Ranching Heritage Breeders have until Nov. 20 to apply for the award.

“AQHA strives to recognize the ranch horse as the cornerstone of the breed and honor the heritage of ranchers who have been good stewards of the land and continue to produce quality American Quarter Horses bred primarily to be used on a working cattle ranch,” AQHA Senior Director of Member Programs Karen McCuistion said in a statement. “The RHB Top Production Sale Award is designed to honor those who have been producing quality horses and to recognize their hard work and dedication to promoting the breed.”

The first recipient will be recognized in 2022 for its 2021 production sale. The recipient will receive a commemorative award, as well as recognition throughout the year.
