Non-Pro Futurity Champion Tops Marketplace At Ardmore

A National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Futurity Non-Pro Champion topped the Marketplace at Ardmore New Year’s Day Sale.  

Sale officials say the online event averaged $13,023 with 85 percent sold. They said the event, their fourth online event since July, was the best yet.

“Traditionally, New Year’s Day has always been a good day to hold a horse sale, and this year proved to be right on point,” said Susie Reed, sale manager for the Marketplace at Ardmore Online Sales.” We had a lot of new buyers register from all across the country with the result – a great sale average and the highest percentage sold we’ve ever had for an online sale.”

Marketplace At Ardmore High Seller

Officials for the sale say SDP Got Fancy Genes, who Tammy Hays rode to the 2013 Non-Pro title, was the highest seller of the sale when she brought a final bid of $35,500. The 2010 sorrel mare by reining stallion RC Fancy Step and out of SDP I Got Good Genes (by Dual Rey) went to new owner Suzanne Cooper.

The Fults Ranch-consigned mare sold bred to Hes Wright On, and had a return breeding to National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Futurity Open Champion Stevie Rey Von.

Second-High Seller

 The second-highest seller at the Marketplace At Ardmore New Year’s Day Sale was Tornados Blazen Blu. The money-winning daughter of Equi-Stat Elite $3 Million Sire Once In A Blu Boon and out of Blazen Tornado (by Smart Mate) sold to Sherri Happel for $21,500. She was consigned by Joyce Katz.
