American Youth Horse Council Seeking Donations For Grant Program Silent Auction

The American Youth Horse Council is seeking items and donations for its annual online silent auction benefitting its youth grant program.

The New Mexico-based non-profit organization will accept items through Feb. 24 to benefit the AYHC Grant Program, which assists groups and provides training for volunteer leaders to help them enrich the horse experiences of youth. It also aims to provide assistance for high-impact activities that promote the youth horse industry.

Programs that have received AYHC Grant Program support in recent years include the Texas 4-H Horse Ambassador Program; Wakulla County Horseman’s Association and 4-H Bits N Bridles Safety Equipment; Wrangler Riding Club Summer Horse Camp; Oklahoma State University Horse Science Academy and the Circle C Equestrian Center Riding Instructor Continuing Education Day.

How to Donate

Officials say donations often include horse-themed artwork, decorations, jewelry, treats, educational materials and clothing. Tack also is suggested.

Those interested in donating can click here to upload the details for their donation (including an item title, description, fair market value, suggested starting bid and picture). Please do not send items to the AYHC office.  Donors will be responsible for shipping donated items to the winning bidder no later than March 19 (auction will close on March 7). Because of this, officials say donors should consider that frozen food or heavy items might not be the easiest or most cost-effective to ship across the country to winning bidders.
