Metallic Malice, formerly owned by Solo Select Horses LLC, has a new home in Gainesville, Texas, with 70 Ranch Performance Horses, L.L.C.

“It is with great excitement that we announce the next chapter for Metallic Malice as he moves just a few miles to his new home at the 70 Ranch Performance Horses facility in Gainesville.  We’re really excited to add this incredible stallion to our program” said CJ Lembke, co-founder of 70 Ranch Performance Horses.

Don Ham, stallion manager for 70 Ranch, explained, “The opportunities that are coming for this horse will be unprecedented — 70 Ranch’s mare power is world-class. CJ Lembke and her team have put together one of the most elite set of mares in the industry — including Nicki Brick House (LTE $150,000 + NFR Qualifier, PE over $130,000), Designer Ruby (PE of over $250,000 – dam of Kylie Weasts’ Hell On The Red) and That Catomine (LTE $130,000 – PE over $400,000 – dam of Duramax Dually) – just to name a few.”

Melanie Smith, founder of Solo Select Horses, carefully considered the next career phase for Metallic Malice, a horse she has nurtured since he was a 4 year old.  “Metallic Malice has brought so many incredible people into my life over the last four years. Because of him, we have worked with hundreds of people world-wide to produce the foal of their dreams. Malice has exceeded my expectations on the foals he has given us and so many others — I couldn’t be more proud and excited for his future. It truly is just beginning,” said Smith.

Lembke and Smith have been working together to ensure a smooth transition for the 2021 breeding season. Smith emphasized that “We have always tried to make customer service a top priority. Jaf Frahm, owner of The Ranch Equine, has done an extraordinary job managing this horse’s breeding career for the last 3 years. We want our customers to know that 70 Ranch and stallion manager Don Ham will continue to treat our customers with the same level of service, quality and respect moving forward.”

Metallic Malice is a 2013 bay roan stallion by Metallic Cat. He is a 9x World Show Qualifier with more than 130 AQHA Performance Points. He is homozygous roan, meaning 100% of his offspring are roans. Metallic Malice has been popular across many disciplines in the industry due to his size, all-around ability and guaranteed color — but the barrel racers have taken a special liking to him recently, due to his enrollment in the Ruby Buckle and Breeders Challenge Incentives. His oldest foals are yearlings.
