Registration Open for AQHA Show Management Course

Registration is now open for a show management workshop offered by the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA).

The virtual educational event will be done through AQHUniversity, which houses the AQHA’s online courses. There currently are several courses that cover topics such as judging different disciplines, being a ring steward as well as the show management course.

The AQHA said its Executive Committee approved offering an online certification process in an effort to provide better education without the added cost of traveling.

Show managers who were certified in 2017 or prior are required to recertify before hosting a show in 2021. Once certified, show managers and secretaries will be accredited for three years (SHW 100.11) and have access to current material moving forward. New show managers and secretaries are invited to enroll in the online course to learn more about hosting an AQHA-sanctioned show or special event.

Access on AQHUniversity for the show management workshop is $250. Once enrolled, participants can take the course at their own pace and will have full access to updated course materials until their next recertification.

AQHA says its staff will instruct this in-depth virtual workshop, which takes a deeper look into marketing, promoting, organizing and managing AQHA shows. Staff will also cover the leveling program, bio-security, animal welfare, judging, stewards, AQHA Professional Horsemen and the AQHA ranching program.
