NCHA Offers Internships During 2020 Futurity Show

The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) will offer internships this year at the NCHA Futurity show.

The NCHA announced it will accept applications through Oct. 16 for two focus areas of internships: show production, as well as marketing and communications. The programs will run during the show held Nov. 19 to Dec. 13 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Held at Will Rogers Memorial Center, the NCHA Futurity show is cutting’s richest and most prestigious event for 3-year-old horses.

The NCHA Futurity Show is held in conjunction with the NCHA World Finals, which features the top 15 horses-and-riders in the association’s World Standings divisions. This event crowns World Finals Show Champions for their exploits at the show, but money won at the World Finals also counts toward the year-end championships.

Show Production Internship

Officials say the show production internship will provide the recipient the opportunity to engage with NCHA staff on several fronts, including event management, communications and member education. They will work closely with the show department team to produce the crown jewel of the NCHA Triple Crown events.

Marketing Internship

The marketing and communications internship will provide the recipient the opportunity to experience all aspects of marketing and promoting a major equine event, including event coverage and content creation. Additionally, the NCHA says the recipient will assist with media correspondence on a local and national level.

Descriptions and application information about the internships can be found at Internship questions can be directed to Joshua Valdez, NCHA manager of shows, at [email protected] or via phone at (817) 244-6188 ext. 150.
