The time is now to vote for the National Reining Horse Youth Association (NRHyA) Art Contest fan favorite.
Voters have until 5 p.m., Sunday, June 21, to support their favorite artwork in the art contest photo album on the NRHyA Facebook Page. The winning artist will receive a gift certificate for a pair of boosts from Anderson Bean Boot Company.
The artwork is from the 2020 NRHyA Art & Photo Contest, which is being held in conjunction with the NRHA Derby in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Class winners in the event, which is sponsored by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, were announced this week. First place in each age group and category will be displayed at the mueum during the Derby. Seventeen NRHyA members submitted more than 30 entries in the contest.
“We were so impressed with the entries,” said Gary Carpenter, NRHA Commissioner. “They each showed considerable talent and artistic expression. We encourage you to enjoy these works of art at an iconic Oklahoma location.”
The contest judges were Carpenter; Michael R. Grauer, McCasland Chair of cowboy culture/curator of cowboy collections and western art at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum; and Steve Miller, vice president, event marketing at NRHA Corporate Partner Montana Silversmiths.
