NCHA Western Nationals Called Off

Another National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA)-produced show has been cancelled.

The NCHA announced on Friday, June 5, it made the “difficult decision” to cancel its Transwest Western National Championships, presented by 6666 Ranch.

“This decision did not come lightly,” said NCHA Executive Director Jay Winborn. “With the uncertainty of the situation in Denver, Colorado, along with the health and personal safety of our members and fans being our top priority, the NCHA felt it was in the best interest of the membership to cancel the Western National Championships.”

In its announcement, the NCHA said competitors could expect “all entries and penalties” to be refunded no later than Thursday, June 25.

The Western Nationals, which was scheduled for June 20-27 at the National Western Complex in Denver, is one of the highest-paying any-age cuttings in the industry.

The NCHA Metallic Cat Summer Spectacular remains scheduled for July 7-Aug. 2 in Fort Worth, Texas, at the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
