APHA Chrome Cash Expands to NRCHA

The American Paint Horse Association (APHA) Chrome Cash has expanded to include events within the National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA).

According to the APHA, the incentive is a $2,000 added class-within-a-class structure that will take place at the NRCHA Derby and NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity

“To be eligible, exhibitors must enter an Open, Non Pro or Non Pro Limited division of the limited age event, then add the APHA Chrome Cash class,” APHA said in a press release. “The horse must be APHA registered and both owner and rider must be current APHA members. Chrome Cash based on preliminary composite scores.”

If a competitor is interested in the program, or wants help in determining eligibility, you can text or call Sunny Bates at 817-219-7985. You can also email Bates at [email protected] or check out the www.apha.com/programs/chromecash.

According to APHA, only two minutes is required to find two inches of qualifying white — solid white or pink skin above the hock or knee and behind the eye — and two steps to enter the incentive. Register your horse with APHA (even your Quarter Horse can qualify) and enter the Chrome Cash class.

The APHA Chrome Cash program has already been made available in the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Triple Crown Events starting in December of 2020, along with cutting shows such as the Brazos Bash.
