in the show pen, while breeders and owners work hard to build a foundation to help those in the arena succeed.
Many of the horses, riders, sires, dams, grandsires, owners and breeders featured in this statistical review have labored for years to earn their place among reining legends, while some newcomers are making their presence known quickly. In both cases, each individual should take pride in being recog- nized for their accomplishments.
This review contains information com- piled, researched and tabulated from 1988 through June 30, 2019. The charts rank reining’s all-time leaders according to money won at aged and ancillary events. The review includes regular purse money and money awarded by incentives open to all. It does not include money awarded by restricted or “closed” incentives not open to all individuals.
The money attributed to a horse is the amount that horse won, while the money attributed to a rider is the amount awarded to the horses ridden by that person. Neither is indicative of who actually received the money. In the sire, dam and grandsire charts, money earned by clones is attributed to the sire, dam and grandsire of the clone’s donor.
