The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) announced two special meetings — one for directors and another for the general membership — will be held during the association’s annual Futurity.
The special meetings, Nov. 30 and Dec. 7, are both scheduled for 1 p.m. at Will Rogers Complex in Fort Worth, Texas.
Directors Special Meeting
According to the NCHA, the Nov. 30 meeting will center on bylaw changes proposed by a special governance committee. Within a few weeks, a formal notice will include a room number and what specific proposed changes will be considered.
“The committee investigating potential governance changes, including Dan Churchill and Lew Stevens, have been working very hard putting together proposed draft Bylaw changes for the Directors’ consideration. Theresa Gillock from Region 2 has also recently joined that committee,” the NCHA said in an announcement. “At that director’s meeting, after a discussion period, the directors will be able to vote on any proposed Bylaw changes.”
The general membership will be allowed to attend the director’s meeting so long as they produce a NCHA membership card. However, only directors will be able to speak at the meeting.
General Membership Special Meeting
As with the directors meeting, a specific agenda for the general membership meeting on Dec. 7 will be sent out in a few weeks, the NCHA said.
At the meeting, general members of the NCHA will be able to speak on and vote on any changes made by the directors at the Nov. 30 meeting.
