The American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Adequan® Select World Championship Show, the world’s largest, single-breed world championship horse show open exclusively to amateur exhibitors age 50 and over, kicked off Monday and will conclude Saturday.
This is the first year for the Select World Show to have been held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, where the show will remain until at least 2021, when the location contract is again open for bid. The first AQHA Select World Show was in 2003 at the Tri-State Fairgrounds in Amarillo.
On Wednesday, Amy Lee Liedtke of Whitesboro, Texas, rode Whos Chocolate Whiz to win the Reining finals. Two other world title winners that day included Brian Peterson, on Helens Slider Chex, in the Working Cow Horse, and Martha Jo Soule, who won in Boxing on Dual N Tomcat. The next day, Shona Dufurrena and her gelding Ricky N Reyd Streaks found themselves in the Cutting winner’s circle.
Check out the winners’ statistics below. See complete results for all money won.
