Brad and Amanda Kelly and their Adh Mor Ranch enjoy supporting kids in the name of their stallion, PS Mega Shine Chic, affectionately known as “Crush.” Their focus on youth continues at the Tulsa Reining Classic with a new sponsorship — “Crushing the Fees” — through which all youth entry costs will be paid. In other words, riders in all the youth classes at Tulsa will have their fees paid, including entry, video, drug and judges’ fees!
“It is so exciting to be able to give something back to the youth who support the Tulsa Reining Classic. This was an idea that Fred Tremblay had for Crush, and we are delighted to get all the details worked out,” said show manager Cheryl Cody. “We feel that youth are the future of our industry and want to help make showing better for them. We are very happy to partner with the Kellys -— and Crush — to make this happen.”
“We want to support the youth because they are what keeps this industry going,” noted Amanda Kelly. “Most horse show kids follow their parents and grandparents around dreaming of being them. This give the youth the opportunity to go into the show pen with a little less pressure. This industry is expensive, and we as the owners of Adh Mor Ranch and Crush want to give them a break financially so they can just get on their horses and do what they really want to do there — go show!”
Crush is a 6-year-old Quarter Horse stallion by Shine Chic Shine and out of Megas Sugar Baby (by Marthas Mega Jac). He was a 2016 National Reining Horse Association Futurity Level 4 Open finalist and the 2017 National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) Level 3 Open Champion and Level 4 Open Co-Reserve Champion.
His success has continued to build in 2019. This year he became an NRBC Level 3 Open Champion a second time, and most recently, he won the Reining By The Bay Derby Level 3 Open Championship and third in Level 4. An earner of more than $188,000, his first foal crop are yearlings in 2019.
