NCHA Hires New Youth Director

The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) has hired a Colorado resident to oversee programs and activities for its youth members.

The Association announced Thursday that Mike Simmons, of Parker, Colorado, took over the position of NCHA Youth Coordinator on Monday, March 4. He currently serves as the Chairman for the Youth Committee, as well as a director for the NCHA.

Simmons and his wife have been involved in the NCHA for more than 20 years, and their passion has been passed on to their two children, both of whom actively compete in the National Youth Cutting Horse Association (NYCHA).

In its announcement, the NCHA said Simmons is ready for the responsibilities of the position and enthusiastic to lead future association members.

“The future of the NCHA and NYCHA is through this generation of youth,” Simmons said. “It is my goal to include our youth more in decision-making aspects of their association and help them accomplish any and every goal they aspire to.”

Simmons has a background in law enforcement and law enforcement education, as well as coaching and mentoring youth in various sports and training programs.

In its statement, the NCHA said it is excited for the passion Simmons is bringing to the role of Youth Coordinator and is looking forward to the impact he will make on the association and the youth members.
