NRHA Sets Dates For 2019 Futurity & NAAC

The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) has settled on dates for its 2019 Futurity & Adequan North American Affiliate Championship Show.

The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma-based association on Wednesday announced its Board of Directors had set this year’s show for Nov. 28 to Dec. 7. Like last year’s show, the 2019 Futurity will start the week of Thanksgiving and conclude on the first weekend in December.

According to the NRHA, the Board held a discussion on the topic in early February at the 2019 NRHA Convention & Awards, and met again to discuss it later that month. Members also discussed this topic widely at the NRHA Convention expressing a variety of opinions, concerns, and benefits.

With a majority in favor, the NRHA Board of Directors voted to approve setting the 2019 NRHA Futurity dates to Nov. 28 to Dec. 7. Last year, horses were allowed into the State Fair Park on Nov. 20 and that year’s show concluded on Dec. 1.

The NRHA said in a statement that its Aged Events Committee will be considering the detailed show schedule in the near future with their recommendation to go to the board at their April meeting.
