Coloradan Elected As NCHA Vice President

A Colorado cattleman has been elected as the next vice president of the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA).

The Fort Worth, Texas-based association announced Wednesday afternoon that Steve Norris won the election. He will take office next month at the NCHA Convention in Grapevine, Texas.

A member of the NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame, Norris has an Equi-Stat record of more than $400,000 as a rider. The resident of Colorado Springs has been a member of NCHA for 45 years, and has served as a director for Colorado in Region 1 and supported the association through its annual golf tournament.

He won the election over fellow candidate Jim Johnson, of Lewisville, West Virginia.

Norris will replace current NCHA Vice President Ron Pietrafeso, of Ebert, Colorado.
