Some of the cow horse industry’s leading professionals convened for the Senior Working Cow Horse finals at the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA)/Lucas Oil World Championship Show, and they certainly put on exciting performances.
As the sixth pair to go in the 17-horse finals, BFR Igniting Sparks (Shining Spark x Sliden Wright By x Smart Little Lena) and Matt Koch earned a 218 in the reining and a 225 down the fence, for a cumulative score of 443.
Those marks held the lead and added a Senior Working Cow Horse World Championship to the stallion’s list of accolades.
Beechfork Ranch’s 2009 palomino Scott Gaddy-bred stallion had more than $65,000 to his credit before the AQHA World Show, nearly $15,000 of which was earned in the roping pen.
A Lil Dab Will Do (Cat Man Do x Dainty Little Step x Wimpys Little Step) and Matt Koch, of Douglas, Wyoming, were marked a 223.5 in the rein work and a 219 down the fence for a 442.5 composite and the Reserve World Championship.
