High Roller Reining Classic Crowns Futurity Champions


Futurity Level 4 Open

Staying true to her name, Lonely At The Top carried Equi-Stat Elite $1 Million Rider Casey Deary to the top of the Futurity Level 4 Open division with a score of 221.5, netting $15,318 for owner Curtis Performance Horses. The mare is by Colonels Smoking Gun (Gunner) and out of National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Triple Crown winner Wimpys Little Chic (by Wimpys Little Step).

Wimpys Little Chic has been a powerhouse dam, producing seven money-earning offspring that have amassed more than $613,221. They include Lonely At The Top’s half-brother ARC Gunnabeabigstar ($271,740, by Gunnatrashya) and half-sister Shesouttayourleague ($260,782, by Walla Walla Whiz). Both offspring are NRHA Futurity Open champions, with Deary riding Shesouttayourleague to all of her lifetime earnings.

Deary also took the Level 4 Open Reserve Championship riding Tinker With Dreams (Tinker With Guns x This Chicsdundreamin x Magnum Chic Dream). He and the stallion, who is owned by Rhodes River Ranch, scored a 220.5 and received $9,324.

Futurity Level 3 Open

A score of 219.5 gave Starlightsndiamonds and Dany Tremblay the Futurity Level 3 Open Championship. The duo also placed fourth in Level 4, collecting a total of $14,825.

Starlightsndiamonds, who belongs to High Hope Farm, is by Whizkey N Diamonds. The mare is out of Starlights Sugarwhiz, a daughter of Little Bay Starlight. Starlights Sugarwhiz is the dam of Magnum Starlights (by Magnum Chic Dream), who has won $144,379 so far during his career.

Shine Plum Shine and Marco Ricotta scored a 219 to take the Level 3 Open Reserve Championship and $5,375 for owner Story Book Stables, Inc. Shine Plum Shine (by Shine Chic Shine) is out of the Mr Solano Rey mare Plum Reyning.

Futurity Level 2 Open

Rick Christen’s stallion Xtra Prettycocktail (Wimpyneedsacocktail x Prettywhizprettydoes x Topsail Whiz) carried Dan Huss to a 217.5, winning the Futurity Level 2 Open Championship and $4,463. They also placed third in Level 3 and tied for ninth in Level 4, collecting an additional $6,529.

Prettywhizprettydoes is the dam of Spooks Gotta Whiz (by Spooks Gotta Gun), an NRHA Triple Crown winner and earner of $363,435. She has also produced his full brother, Spooks Gotta Run ($65,956).

The Level 2 Open Reserve Championship went to Wikibanjo and Travis Wigen, who marked a 217. They earned $2,717 for owner Stacie Rasmussen. Wikibanjo is by Banjo Whiz and out of the Lil Ruf Peppy daughter Miss Lil Ruf.

Futurity Level 1 Open

Matching scores of 214 led to a tie for the Futurity Level 1 Open Championship. Both Splash Big Time, ridden by Chuy Chavez, and Xtra Voodoo Sailor, ridden by Colin Fitzpatrick, marked the score, and each received $1,584.

Splash Big Time (Shine Big Time x Nu Magnolia Chex x Nu Chex To Cash) belongs to Laura Johnson. The stallion and Chavez also placed sixth in Level 2 and tied for 13th in Level 3, kicking off their bankroll together with a total of $3,518.

By Shiners Voodoo Dr, Xtra Voodoo Sailor is out of Always Sailing Smart (by Sailing Smart). The mare is owned by Carl Lambert and also tied for 13th in Level 3 and 26th in Level 4. Altogether, she went home with $2,160.
