The Idaho Cutting Horse Association (ICHA) Futurity and Aged Event in Nampa, Idaho, kicked off its excitement with the Classic/Challenge Open finals, where 11 talented combinations vied for top honors.
Metallic Flo (Metallic Cat x Zacks J Flo x Mr Peponita Flo) and Equi-Stat Elite $2 Million Rider Gavin Jordan proved their worth when they marked a big 222. That high score finished on top of the field by a significant 3-point margin.
The pair collected $10,128 for their success in Idaho, and the 5-year-old black mare was pushed to nearly $75,000 in lifetime earnings.
Metallic Flo was bred by Bill Carter, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is owned by Diane Rubino Ferrara, of San Jose, California.
As the third draw, Look Whos Smooth (Smooth As A Cat x Desires Rey x Dual Rey) and Mike Wood marked a 219, and that score was matched by Metallic Rebel (Metallic Cat x Sweet Abra x Abrakadabracre) and Equi-Stat Elite $3 Million Rider Beau Galyean. Both teams took home Co-Reserve honors and $7,750.
