NRHA 4-Year-Old Red Shirt Futurity Non-Pro
The 4-Year-Old Red Shirt Futurity Non-Pro is intended for any 4-year-old reiner who was not shown in any 3-year-old futurity. The class brought eight combinations to Nampa.
Although Miss Snappy Spook had never posted a check to Equi-Stat before the Best Little Derby in the West, she put together a run with Stephanie Porath that made her look like a seasoned show horse. The pair marked a 215.5 to claim the Championship.
The win was worth $1,035, which pushed Porath, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, to an Equi-Stat record of more than $90,000.
George Stone and Sharlene Stone-owned Doc Hollywimp clinched the Reserve Championship and $777 after marking a 206.5.
NRHA 4-Year-Old Derby Level 4 Non-Pro
The NRHA 4-Year-Old Derby Level 4 Non-Pro brought plenty of excitement to the Ford Idaho Horse Park when there was a run-off for the title.
Callie Abing and Shiny Electric Spark and Jake Dahl and Bay Berry Shake (Country Bay Berry x Forever Going Steady x Steadys Dude) both marked a 212 during their first runs in the class.
During the run-off both combinations had an impressive run, but Abing’s performance on Katherine Toth’s Shiny Electric Spark, which brought a 219, edged out Dahl’s 217.5.
Abing collected $1,818 for her win, and she brought her lifetime earnings to more than $41,310.
Dahl and Bay Berry Shake, who was bred by Linda Wise, of Longmont, Colorado, took home the Reserve Championship and $1,250.
