Taylor Zimmerman Wins in Oklahoma

Levels 3 & 2

Ryan Humphrey knew Hollywood Hype (Hollywoodtinseltown x Shiners Miss Lena s Shining Spark) was a special horse when he purchased the stallion as a 3-year-old. But, Humphrey didn’t know how he would perform in the show pen under his guidance until the OKRHA Ride and Slide Derby.

The 4-year-old stallion exceeded all of Humphrey’s expectations when he carried him to a 218 to claim the Level 3 and 2 championships. The marks also earned him third in the Level 4, and Humphreys took home paychecks totaling $6,607 for his performance.

The Carol Rose-bred stallion was pushed to more than $22,000 in lifetime earnings and Humphrey, of Whitesboro, Texas, has an Equi-Stat record of $124,209.

“I didn’t really know what to expect, but he turned great for me,” Humphrey said. “He did everything pretty good for me. He stopped big, and this was a great first outing for him and I to go to.”

David McBurney and Fancy SteppinWhiz (RC Fancy Step x TC West Coast Wendi x West Coast Whiz) marked a 216 and claimed the Level 3 Non-Pro Reserve Championship, worth $1,531. In the Level 2, David Silva and Face Time (Pale Face Dunnit x Shine On Tejon x Tejons Peppy Doc) took home Reserve honors and $1,128 after earning a 214.5.
