The 4-Year-Old Amateur Champion was decided after the first go-round at The Ike and it was Joel Colgrove Sr. and his stallion Tank Tallic who took home top honors. Along with the bragging rights, the duo pocketed $2,949.

Tank Tallic (Metallic Cat x Otes Little Darlin x Hickoryote), who was bred by Harden Ranch, of Weatherford, Texas, made the Unlimited Amateur Semifinals with Colgrove’s granddaughter, Madalyn, and this win brings the stallion’s lifetime record to $4,349.

Colgrove, of Boligee, Alabama, has earned nearly $70,000 in the show pen.

Rhein Standish claimed the 4-Year-Old Amateur Reserve title with Bet On Leona 013 (Bet Hesa Cat x Smart Little Leona x Smart Little Lena). They marked a 216.5 and took home $1,769 for their efforts.
