Ted Robinson has won more than $1.75 million throughout his reined cow horse career and is the only horseman to win back-to-back National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Snaffle Bit Futurity Open championships. He is also the only person to have won the title seven times.

In 1987, Robinson piloted Nu Cash (Colonel Freckles x Nu Rendition x Nu Bar) to the winner’s circle, and in 1991 he returned to claim the Championship once again aboard Master Checks (Master Remedy x Bueno Chex Kaweah x Bueno Chex).

Four years later, he won his third Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Championship with The Nu Colonel (Nu Cash x Malbeckin x Doc’s Malbec), who went on to earn $74,668 in the show pen. It has been said that things come in threes, and Robinson continued his success for the next two years. Following his win aboard The Nu Colonel, he rode two more Nu Cash offspring, Shesa Lota Cash (out of Snip Gay Bar x Gay Bar King) and Smart Little Cash (out of Lil Miss Smarty Chex x Smart Little Lena) to the 1996 and 1997 Open titles, respectively.

Shesa Lota Cash earned a total of $59,825 in reined cow horse competition, and Smart Little Cash completed his career with $84,750 to his name, and is the second-highest money-earner by Nu Cash.

The championship trifecta was not the end for Robinson, who returned to win the title two more times – in 2000 with Smokums Prize (Smokum Oak x Tommie Tivio Tucker x Doc Tom Tucker) and in 2005 with Nu Circle Of Light (Nu Circle N Cash x Katie Starlight x Grays Starlight), who is one of Nu Cash’s grandsons. In addition to the success Robinson has had with the Nu Cash line, his son, Tucker, is carrying on the Robinson family name, as well. He has earned more than $600,000, according to Equi-Stat, and earned his first NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open title in 2010.
