Ifwhizswereguns Tops Futurity Open at High Roller

Level 3 & 2

Jordan McBurney had the hopes of having a clean and accurate run on Gibsons Finest (Whizkey N Diamonds x Moms Stylish Pepto x Peptoboonsmal), but what she got was much more – the Futurity Level 3 Open Championship.

“I am really surprised and happy with how things went today,” McBurney said. “Everything came together really nicely.”

Ruben Van Dorp has always had confidence that Smart Twinkeltown (Hollywood Tinseltown x Smartys Sittle Jewel) would be solid in the show pen, and in the Futurity Open finals, his prediction was proven true.

He laid down a 219 and claimed both the Futurity Level 3 Open Reserve Championship and the Futurity Level 2 Open Championship.

“His attitude is great,” Van Dorp said. “He does everything low headed, and he is such a kind horse.”

Level 1

The High Roller Reining Classic was the first event that Kari Klingenberg hauled Gunnachicya (Gunnatrashya x Millionic Chic) to, and she was just hoping the give the young reiner a positive experience.

Not only was Klingenberg pleased that Gunnachicya took to the new environment like a seasoned competitor, but she was even more thrilled that they were able to earn a 215 for the Futurity Level 1 Open Championship.

“He has always been really good for me,” Klingenberg said. “I’m looking forward to going to the [NRHA] Futurity with him.”

Josiah Haaby and Smart Chics Boomer (Boomernic x Miss Chicanic) marked a 210.5 to claim the Futurity Level 1 Open Reserve Championship.
